This is not really the place for this thread but we don't seem to have a forum for general software discussion, and microshit bitching.... (methinks i detect a gap in the market)
Anyway... finally 'bit the bullet' and got around to installing IE8 on my main machine which I have been avoiding for as long as possible... hand was a little forced as things are starting to no longer work.
Goodness me what a lumbering great elephant of a browser it is. You have to be really on the ball and tech savvy to avoid all the crap they load it up with... the number of add-ons, 'accelerators', silverlight, bing toolbar, auto link updates, suggested site indicators, auto suggestions, blah bladdy blah they sneak on if you don't read the small print is nothing short than spyware.... and i thought google were bad!
I spent half an hour getting rid of all the rubbish i neither asked for nor needed...
nothing changes...
(will say that once i ditched all the 'extras' it is very neat and pretty zippy... )
