No, I sure don't. If I can't find something, I'll just never eat spaghetti again that isn't bought elsewhere. Can't boil water on what I have now.

That's my problem. I know there are camping ones that operate on DC or whatever, but I need something for regular AC.

I think you'd need to be sure that the circuit you're using for the burners is heavy enough for the power drawn. If it just trips a breaker, that's pretty straight forward I guess.

If you were using an extension cord, it should be heavy enough, etc. I remember buying a particular cord to use with a toaster oven.

Any luck on finding something? Did you try out freecycle, craigslist or the goodwill? Sometimes you just have to keep checking.

Another thought - Would it just be a matter of replacing a burner or two on the stove, or is the problem more involved than that?

Otherwise, I think you could do spaghetti in a crock pot with a high setting, but I bet it would take a long time, and it may be tricky at first.

The problem Taggart is that the entire unit has been on the way out for a long time. The oven is useless. For example. I can bake cookies for 10 minutes one night and they are perfect. Another night they are way overdone and dark. Another night, they're not done and need more time. Something is just off on the temperature thing I guess. The four burners have had problems for years. Two of them stopped working ages ago, but these last two continued to work, until recently. I tried to boil water and a half hour later I was still waiting. I can't afford a new unit so I have to look for an inexpensive substitute.

I'm super crunched for money right now so I'm still exploring options. I haven't found anything yet that isn't camp DC stuff.

I see Orrymain. I think the oven problem may be a thermostat issue...?

One thing I do like about crock pots is that it is possible to technically overcook something over a period of hours, but I don't think it's possible to cause smoke or start a fire, touch wood.
