Banners certainly are everywhere. Click throughs can be misleading though. How many of us have accidentally clicked on an annoying banner?

I think it wise to avoid having too many banners on a site. It can be distracting from the true purpose of having it there.
I have always liked to have them spread out on separate pages of the site.

You have my kind of site. I am someone who will exit a page pronto if there's too much going on. I just don't like the distractions.

I find it very distracting and even annoying to go to a site that looks like a giant billboard. It takes the focus off the main idea of the page or product.

exactly..even I hate such kind of websites...it is like you are skewting for valuable material out of rubbish..I like the approach of webowners who really plan out the place of banner or any kind of ads in such a way that it does not come in the way of the real stuff.
