I have always tried to maintain a balance between the two..I mean you can begin giving a personal experience or example and then move forward to the main idea of the article...that way it becomes more engaging to the audience whoever is reading it. I think some people have a special knack for working personal anecdotes into presentations, etc. I know people who can make almost any event into a decent story, and I think that could help their business. Some people do a have knack for story telling. If someone does not have this talent, then they can tell a story about someone they know or (legally) borrow one from someone else.
